Louise Stolz

Louise is a 3rd year PhD student in the Neurosciences Graduate Program at UCSD. Her research with Dr. Greg Appelbaum involves personalizing novel neuromodulatory therapies for patients with treatment resistant depression and developing neurophysiological markers of treatment response. Outside the lab, Louise is heavily involved in mentorship through her participation in NGP’s Diversity Committee, training undergraduates in the lab and Colors of the Brain, and as head of the Peer Advising Committee. In her free time, Louise can be found outdoors either hiking, playing soccer, beach volleyball or surfing.

Vivian Ko

Vivian is a 4th year PhD student in the Neurosciences Graduate Program at UCSD, studying molecular mechanisms underlying ALS neurodegeneration and potential therapeutic approaches for translation into patients in Dr. John Ravits' lab. She is passionate about advocating for increased diverse representation in scientific research careers, and is thus also heavily involved in the Neuroscience Outreach Program and Diversity Committees within the UCSD Neuroscience Graduate Program. In her free time, she likes to paint, cook, camp, and explore the outdoors with her cat.

Jess Du

Jess is a 4th year PhD student in the Neurosciences Graduate Program at UCSD. Her current research is trying to figure out how the genetic code directs cells in the developing brain to go to the right places and form the right initial connections, which is fundamental to proper brain function throughout life. Alongside her research, she spends time on science writing, mentorship through groups like Científico Latino, and making science-related arts and crafts. https://about.me/jess-du
